Operating tables
Electric operating tables and positioning accessories.
What is an operating table?
The operating table supports the patient and controls their positioning during the procedure: height, Trendelenburg, lateral tilt, back plate. A radiolucent tabletop allows intraoperative imaging to be used without transferring the patient.

Where is it used?
The operating table is the longest-lasting item in the operating theatre: it remains in service for twenty years or more. It is chosen according to the specialties practised, each requiring its own positioning accessories — arches, supports, leg holders, head rests. A multi-purpose table suits a general operating theatre, while a centre specialising in orthopaedics or neurosurgery has its own requirements. The maximum load must be considered in a tilted position and not flat, and a radiolucent tabletop becomes essential as soon as intraoperative imaging is used.
What to check before choosing?
- Radiolucent tabletop, essential for surgery under an image intensifier
- Minimum achievable height: some specialties, such as neurosurgery, require a very low position
- Maximum load supported, including when positioned
- Positioning accessories available for each surgical specialty
